Leigh’s Review – Dirty Uncle by Alexa Riley & Jessa Kane

A dirty little taboo treat. ~ Leigh, Guilty Pleasures

Rex spends a lot of time on king crab fishing boats. So much time that he can’t remember the last time he felt the warmth of a woman. So when his barely legal, half-naked niece lands in his lap, he can’t seem to control himself.

Clara is old enough to make her own decisions, and she’s decided she wants her step-uncle Rex. He’s big and dirty, but tell that to her aching body.

Warning: When Jessa and Alexa team up you know it’s going to be terrible. Turn down the lights and grab some fresh batteries. This one is straight filth!

I enjoyed this book because I took it for what it was: a quick and dirty, over the top, insta-love story. Stressing very, very over the top. And very dirty. And pretty typical of Alexa Riley.

The Dirty Uncle is Rex, a big, burly fisherman who is not often around women. When he meets his young (although still over 18) niece-by-marriage, he doesn’t know who she is, but is instantly enamored by the trusting way she looks at him. For her part, it is instant infatuation for Clara. She is an awkward, innocent girl looking for someone to protect her, and this bearded, gruff bear of a man is just the person to fit the bill.

I couldn’t take anything about this story seriously. The people were just larger than life. Rex was too gruff. Clara was too innocently weird and klutzy. Her stepfather was too creepy and the reasons for the conflict were too simplistic. I think with any other author it would have turned me off if I thought they were trying to be serious, but with Alexa Riley’s stories (and now my introduction to Jessa Kane), I take them for what they are: dirty little taboo treats. This was a raunchy and fun quick read.
