DiDi’s Review – Sleigh Ride with the Single Dad (Christmas in Manhattan) by Alison Roberts

Sleigh Ride with the Single Dad is an emotional yet light-hearted romance with strong, vulnerable main characters, interesting secondary characters and two boys plus a dog who steal many scenes. I love that Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are the time frame of this story, a story of love, family and second chances that has definitely put me in the holiday spirit! ~ DiDi, Guilty Pleasures

Blurb:
Her secret Christmas wish…

Dr. Grace Forbes’s dramatic first day in Manhattan Mercy ER is unforgettable—especially when she runs into her old flame, ER chief Charles Davenport, again!

That spark is still there between them but they’re different people now—after losing his wife, Charles is a single dad to adorable twin boys, while Grace has survived cancer but lost her dream of having children. Yet, as the weather gets colder, she is drawn into the warmth of his family—could he make her Christmas wish come true?

I enjoyed Sleigh Ride with the Single Dad, let me tell you in advance it is not an erotic romance, all sexual scenes are behind closed doors, but that did not dull my enjoyment of the story, actually it fit well with Grace and Charles romance.

Grace and Charles have both been dealt things in life that most people can’t handle, each had come to terms with living life the way they currently were, Charles being a single father to twins and Grace living on her own and never having kids. A job opening brings these two back face to face and the old feelings resurface but both have been so hurt by life they aren’t sure if being more than friends is a chance they want to take. When Grace meets Charles’ twins Max and Cameron she felt a love like she never felt before, she also realized she is falling in love with Charles. When Charles sees Grace again he realizes he and his boys have been missing out on the love of a woman, but he is still hesitant to try to bring someone into their lives again.

Sleigh Ride with the Single Dad is an emotional yet light-hearted romance with strong, vulnerable main characters, interesting secondary characters and two boys plus a dog who steal many scenes.
