I was happy to read that Wade was getting his own HEA in Safe Bet and thought Sydney was the perfect one week girlfriend for him. ~ Paige, Guilty Pleasures
Sydney Walker’s new job is perfect. As the live-in nanny to the most famous quarterback in the NFL and his beautiful wife, she couldn’t have it any better. Their kids are adorable. Her bosses are more than generous. Plus, there are hot football players at the house all the time. Life can’t get much better than this.
Until her life turns into an absolute nightmare. The media is abuzz with rumors that she and her boss Drew Callahan are having a torrid affair. Everyone knows the truth—except the public. So Drew’s wife Fable comes up with the perfect idea.
She creates a fake relationship between Sydney and one of the rookie players on Drew’s team. Wade Knox is forever indebted to Drew and Fable and readily agrees to the set up. Pretending to be in a romantic relationship with the hot nanny for a week—how hard can it be?
Crazy how it only takes one week for two people to fall head over heels in love…
(This mash-up new adult romance features characters from both the One Week Girlfriend series and The Rules series.)

The concept isn’t new for readers and fans of Monica Murphy but she’s able to bring sweetness and charm to Wade and Sydney’s story. From the beginning you could sense that Wade and Sydney definitely had chemistry but we’re reluctant to claim each other. Both had obstacles to over come. Wade is just starting his career and can’t afford to have a distraction or make any mistakes. Sydney needs to get her head on straight. She’s been privileged her entire life and is facing the reality of growing up.
This pair didn’t have the opportunity to take their relationship slow. They were both thrust into the media spotlight due to forces
beyond their control. They take a page from Drew and Fable to begin their relationship. They also weaved a pretty convincing fake relationship and were able to turn friendship and lust and into so much more.
I appreciated that the book didn’t contain unnecessary drama or angst to their story. I thought it was a quick enjoyable coming of age read. We’re also able to catch up on a few of our favorite characters.
