After being out of her life for six years, he and his gorgeous fiancé are set to star in the new Broadway show Elissa is stage managing. The only trouble is, when late night rehearsals bring Elissa and Liam together, the line between what is and what could have been gets blurred. Now one moment of weakness is about to create a scandal that will echo around the world.

Elissa knows that falling for Liam again would be a tragedy in the making, but as any good romantic knows, love doesn’t always follow the script.

Leisa Rayven will always be an auto-buy author for me. Her writing is top-notch, believable, full of atruegemawardthe feels, and her stories never fail to touch and move me in ways I’m not sure I even know how to explain. Wicked Heart, book 3 in the Starcrossed series, made me laugh (a lot), swoon, weep, scream with frustration, and though I was a little nervous about the final outcome, had an utterly fulfilling ending. Ms. Rayven held my heart captive as she took me, along with the characters for one heart-stopping, mega emotional ride that kept me up way past my bedtime.

Second chance romances are quickly becoming my favorite stories to read. I honestly can’t get enough of them especially when they are written as well as this one. Elissa and Liam meet by chance when they are young adults. She’s been burned and hurt a few times by actors (she works as a stage manager) so she’s sworn off EVER dating another one. Liam is attracted to her from the get go and pursues her HARD. Elissa fights it with everything in her being. He’s so sweet and charming, and the things he says, NO ONE, I don’t care how strong of a person you are could resist him. I was in totally in love with him way before Elissa. My internal “AWWWWWES” were on a constant replay. With all his charming, cute, and sexy perfectness, of course, he eventually wears her down. She falls really HARD and is completely and totally head over heels in love. She trusts him unconditionally with her heart and body. She finally lets down her guard and when she does, he breaks her heart. At this point in the story, you’re thinking NOPE, no way, there’s nothing he can do or say to make me like him after this. I’m broken-hearted as well.

Fast forward six years, just when she thinks she has finally moved on with her life, Liam waltzes back into it….with his FINANCE’. WHAT THE HECK? I was right there feeling her pain. I wanted to kill him for her. She’s established in her job at a theater and he’s now a famous actor who is starring in a production where she works as the main stage manager. She loves her job, and is not going to leave just because she has to watch the two of them together all day every day. Though, you know that had to be killer. He’s the only guy she’s ever loved. Not to mention, the sparks and chemistry are still there. He’s not making it easy on her at all. Not only that, the girlfriend really likes her and wants to be besties! WHAT THE HECK? I’m not giving anything away! You have to read it for yourself but just remember things aren’t always as they seem. Take my word for it and just enjoy the journey. You’ll also enjoy her secondary characters. They offer comedic relief between the crying fits. You can count on an HEA, however, I think Ms. Rayven enjoys ripping our hearts out of our chests. The payoff is so worth it though! My other warning is to make sure you have plenty of tissue.

Normally, books heavy on the angst are not for me, so not the case with Wicked Heart. Maybe it was all the alcohol I drank to help get me through all the angst, but I was so engrossed in the story, I couldn’t put it down until I knew everything was going to be ok. All kidding aside (was I kidding?), this story is the perfect balance of tension, heartbreak, passion, and a love so true and beautiful, it hurts. Leisa Rayven never disappoints. She pens beautiful love stories that will stay with you for months, maybe even years after you’ve read them.

**NOTE: Wicked Heart is part of a series but is a COMPLETELY STANDALONE book. You DO NOT have to read the other two books in the series. I LOVED them so I highly recommend you read them, but you don’t have to before you read this one. Also, it is written in first person from the female’s POV.
