Sweet, sexy and packed with a lot of emotion this book reminded me of why I fell in love with this series years ago. ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures
On the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary, Big Mac and Linda McCarthy take a look back at how they came to be, while each of their children confront a new challenge in their own lives. Come to Gansett Island to celebrate the holidays and the anniversary of the island’s most loved couple!
On the day of their 40th wedding anniversary Marie Force finally gives us a look at the courtship and marriage of “Big” Mac and Linda McCarthy in Celebration After Dark and it was well worth the wait. Sweet, sexy and packed with a lot of emotion this book reminded me of why I fell in love with this series years ago.
We’ve seen Big Mac and Linda as parents, grandparents, aunt, uncle, brother, sister and friends but we’ve never seen them as a young couple in love and we get a really good look at how they met, their crazy whirlwind courtship and their early married life. It was sentimental and beautiful and a true testament of how much they overcame to become the well respected couple they are today. I loved the look back at their early lives and loved seeing them overcome with emotion as their friends and family celebrated their love and marriage.
Ms. Force did a great job in interspersing scenes featuring all of their children and their significant others as well as a few other special residents of Gansett Island. There are some big changes afloat for the McCarthy’s and their friends and it will be very interesting to see how the lives of all of these beloved characters plays out.
Celebration After Dark is truly a celebration of life, family, and sticking by one another through good times and bad but most of all it is about the type of love we all hope to achieve in our lifetime. Well done Ms. Force, well done!
