Alpha Heart Book 3- This is my favorite book of the series of these standalone books. The concept of a female bodyguard protecting a sex hotel magnate had me at hello. Delaney is the only female bodyguard on the team and needs to prove she can handle the job when Jaxson Sheilds comes in needing 24 hour protection. Jaxson is your typically popular with the ladies billionaire. He is arrogant, moody and does not want a female bodyguard. Delaney and Jax have chemistry from the “friendly” wrestling match during their first meeting. The reason that Jax needs a bodyguard is secondary to the heat between the two of them.
What I enjoyed about this series is that all of the women were strong individuals that didn’t need a man to save them. It was refreshing and cool to see these women in traditional male jobs and kick ass at them. My only complaint was that I felt these two deserved a better HEA. It was wrapped up too quickly and felt more like the beginning of their relationship instead of them moving forward as a couple. Great ending to the series and a great series that showed a different side of the author. I know Bella Jewel from her MC series which are gritter and a little darker. It is nice to see her branch out with her writing.
