2nd ARC Review – In from the Cold by Meg Adams

In From the Cold is a sweet holiday romance that truly shines light on the holiday season and the joys of family! ~ Autry, Guilty Pleasures

26108704Description:
Perfect families don’t always start with perfect ingredients.

Professional nanny Claire Iverson has wiped enough noses, butts and spills to qualify for a PhD in raising kids. She knows a toddler with a potty crisis when she sees one, and it’s clear this child’s impossibly handsome father doesn’t, since he’s sound asleep on the flight to Jackson, Wyoming.

Getting burned by her ex-boyfriend left her gun-shy around men, but when it comes to this beautiful little girl, she has to speak up. Just her luck, it turns out the man she just dressed down is her new boss.

Between his roles as full-time CEO and full-time father, Drake Driscoll is exhausted. If he can seal the next deal at his upcoming holiday house party, he’ll have room to breathe. He never expected for his daughter’s new nanny to take his breath away.

Claire hesitates to accept the warmth that beckons in Drake’s arms. But soon their attraction ignites, pulling them in deeper than either of them expected. Into passion that could weld them forever—or burn them to cinders.

Product Warnings: Hot chocolate, cozy fires, snowball fights and sizzling ski hut sex = one very merry holiday!

Drake Driscoll is a very busy man, who loves his daughter and wants to enjoy the holidays in between his business meetings. He never knew he would be sharing the guesthouse with one of his former friends and her ugly addictions. His past is finding a way to mess up his Christmas plans, and he is finally trying to take a risk and find another partner to share his life with. He puts everything he has into his business deals and his personal life; he may find a way to have both.

Claire Iverson is starting to dip her toes into the career field again; a terrible past relationship has had her holed up for a while now. Becoming a nanny for a single father working over the holiday sounded like a great way to start working again. Claire never expected to fall in love and gain a family within such short time, especially with the man whom she argued just hours before.

In From the Cold, was a very enjoyable read; the plot flowed smoothly and had a very small cast of characters who were complex to say the least. The quick, witty banter between Drake and Claire had me smiling and thinking the worst about Drake. Drake was very quick to turn my thoughts around, it was clear to see how much he adored his daughter and would do anything to see her smile. Emotions throughout the book remained happy and hopefully until the end; they were thrust into a very stressful situation midway through the book. Drake and Claire made the best out of a horrible situation and became a strong more likeable couple. I loved the smaller cast, the truthful conversations between characters. I would recommend this to anyone who loves holiday romances!
