No strings. And no restraints…

Professional football player Bryan Townsend is sidelined for the next two weeks while he recovers from a knee injury. The upside? He’ll get to attend his sister’s wedding. The downside? So when he’s confronted by a sexy blast from his past the night of the bachelor party, he sees an opportunity to seduce the very stunning maid of honor.

But Bryan had no clue Jill St. John was still a virgin. Or that she was merely looking to expand her sexual repertoire without having to trust anyone with her heart. But with every encounter, Jill can’t help but fall for the man Bryan’s become. The clock is running down. If he’s to win it all, Bryan must make the biggest play of his career—choosing between his team…or the woman he’s always wanted.

I’m not a huge fan of virgin heroine stories (and this isn’t a spoiler as that information is shared in theatruegemaward book’s synopsis) but because No Promises Required is part of a series I’ve enjoyed by an author I love, I made the decision to read it and I’m very glad I did. Two people both with something to prove and years of lustful feelings between them find out just how far they are both willing to go to be together. An engaging, alluring, and sinfully sexy story between two people who need each other more than they ever imagined makes this another fantastic offering from author Cari Quinn.

Following knee surgery and on an extended leave from his pro football team, Bryan Townsend is home for two weeks; he’s excited to be able to attend his sister’s wedding but concerned that everything he’s been doing isn’t enough to keep him on the team he loves so much. The last thing he expects is to fall straight into lust with his little sister’s best friend turned sexy goddess, Jill St. John. Jill on the other hand plans to do everything she can do to seduce Bryan into a short affair and she plans to enjoy every minute of his time home.

I always get a little kick out of it when a man sees a woman and can’t believe it’s the gawky teenage her once knew and knows he wants her despite how wrong he thinks it might be. I’ll give Bryan some credit he did try to fight it but Jill wasn’t having any of that. I loved watching Jill explore her new found sexuality and how she kept surprising Bryan over and over with everything she wanted to try and do. It never ceases to make me smile when a woman can knock a man on his a$$ because she has needs and desires he doesn’t expect.

What I loved about this book is that because these two had history, because their families were so close while growing up they immediately clued in to what each other needed outside of the bedroom. Bryan was dealing with a lot of family issues and Jill was there to offer advice and even be a sounding board when he needed it. He was there for her when memories cropped up that haunted her or when she just needed a friend.

I always appreciate a story where the relationship grows and builds throughout the book and that was very much the case in No Promises Required. Sure there were a whole lot of sexy times, some even kinky, but without even realizing it these two built the foundation for one hell of solid relationship without even trying and that I love with ever fiber of my being!
