ARC Review – The Promise (Thunder Point #5) by Robyn Carr

The Promise is book 5 in Robyn Carr’s Thunder Point series, and let me say, I have fallen more in love with this series with each book.

One thing that I love about Robyn Carr is that her books deal with real life situations. Her characters are so well written that you truly feel for them, you root for them and you get mad at them. You feel all the emotions from these characters and stories jumping off the pages. You not only fall in love with the main characters, but the secondary characters and the small town of Thunder Point too. ~ Piper, Guilty Pleasures

Scott Grant has a bustling family practice in the small Oregon community of Thunder Point. The town and its people have embraced the widowed doctor and father of two, his children are thriving, and Scott knows it’s time to move on from his loss. But as the town’s only doctor, the dating scene is awkward. That is, until a stunning physician’s assistant applies for a job at his clinic.

Peyton Lacoumette considers herself entirely out of the dating scene. She’s already been burned by a man with kids, and she’s come to Thunder Point determined not to repeat past mistakes. When Scott offers her a job, at a much lower salary than she’s used to, Peyton is surprisingly eager to accept…at least for now. She’s willing to stay for a three-month trial period while she explores other options.

Scott and Peyton know the arrangement is temporary—it isn’t enough time to build a real relationship, never mind anything with lasting commitment. But love can blossom faster than you think when the timing is right, and this short visit just might hold the promise of forever.

Dr. Scott Grant came to Thunder Point after the death of his wife with his two small children. Scott wanted a slower life and the ability as a doctor to help people and make a true difference. Peyton Lacoumette is a Physician Assistant left a very successful practice after ending a bad relationship and has come to Thunder Point to figure out her next move. Peyton has no interest in dating any man, let alone another man with kids.

Scott is interested in Peyton from the moment he meets her. Scott is finally ready to move on from the loss of his wife. He wants to share his and his children’s life with someone. After their initial meeting, Scott and Peyton believe that neither is interested in the other for various reasons and they begin to form a wonderful friendship. Through this friendship they are able to grow close to one another. Their love story is one that I truly love to read. The kind that slowly builds over time. They are there for one another when needed and help each other through tough spots.

I am sure like other fans of this series, it was great to finally get Scott’s HEA. I have enjoyed him and his children from previous books. He is just one of those romance characters that you cannot help but fall in love with. He has been through so much, but still has this huge heart for his friends and the people of Thunder Point. I loved that Peyton was from this huge crazy family and grew up on a farm. For Scott and his children to be able to have the love and support that came with Peyton’s family was wonderful.

Scott and Peyton complement each other so well. They both have amazing hearts.

I loved this trip to Thunder Point. I enjoyed seeing into the lives of past character from previous books. I am hopeful that our sweet lovable Rawley has found a potential love interest in good hearted Carrie.

Thank you Robyn Carr for another wonderful trip to Thunder Point.

Happy Reading!
