From beginning to end of both this book and this series author Lori Foster had entertained, enlightened, educated, and thrilled us with her uncanny ability to mix suspense, sex, and love into one amazing package. ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures

A no-nonsense female cop reluctantly teams up with the one man who makes her lose control in a deliciously sensual new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster…

To bring down a sleazy abduction ring, Lieutenant Margaret “Margo” Peterson has set herself up as bait. But recruiting Dashiel Riske as her unofficial partner is a whole other kind of danger. Dash is 6’4″ of laid-back masculine charm, a man who loves life—and women—to the limit. Until Margo is threatened, and he reveals a dark side that may just match her own.

Beneath Margo’s tough facade is a slow-burning sexiness that drives Dash crazy. The only way to finish this case is to work together side by side…skin to skin. And as their mission takes a lethal turn, he’ll have to prove he’s all the man she needs—in all the ways that matter.

Every series must come to an end and Dash of Peril is the last book in Lori Foster’s Love purestdelightawardUndercover series, but man what an awesome ending! Tough as nails police Lieutenant Margaret “Margo” Peterson doesn’t have time for relationships but Dashiel “Dash” Riske has plans to make her see otherwise and while he’d never ask for the trouble they get into, he can’t help but be thankful that she needs help and he’s on hand to provide it. An amazing cast of characters, a thrilling plot line, smart dialog, and lots of sexy fun make Dash Of Peril the perfect book to round out what has been an entertaining and provocative series.

I love a strong female character who can take care of themselves and that describes Margo perfectly. I’ll admit that that when we first met her in the earlier books I was a little unsure of her; I wasn’t sure if she could be trusted. Over time it became apparent she was one of the few who could be trusted and I greatly admired her strength and dedication to the force. I also found it interesting that when one of her detective’s brother was around, we got glimpses of another side of this complex woman. Dash had the uncanny ability to knock her off balance which of course did not please her so it made perfect sense that he was the man who would eventually worm his way into her life and her heart.

Dash is a man that displays a quiet strength. He’s been there to offer assistant to his crime fighting brother and his friends when needed but knows his limitations and boundaries. The one thing he is sure of is that he wants Margo like no other woman and he plans to have her despite her obvious attempts to keep him at bay.

I honestly don’t know when I’ve enjoyed a couple more than Dash and Margo. Dash is one of those heroes who is surprising because on the outside he seems pretty laid back and willing to go with the flow but with Margo he becomes this dominate alpha male willing to be whatever she needs. I love that he doesn’t let her hide anything from him, that he fully appreciates her strength, that when she’s in “police mode” he finds it sexy, and that he calms her fears and lets her be the woman she is. Seriously, Dash is a pretty awesome man and as far as I can tell he has few flaws. Margo is kind of a mess; she had a really strange and difficult upbringing, she feels that she can never let her guard down around anyone, and she thinks she needs to be in control of everything at all times. It was interesting to watch as Dash helped her to understand it was okay to lean on someone, to be cared for, and to let someone else lead. I really loved watching her figure out that with Dash she could be herself and that Dash not only accepted all of her sides but relished in bringing them out.

Dash and Margo find themselves smack dab in the middle of a messy situation. With Margo injured she is forced to let Dash help her and trust Logan, Reese, Rowdy and even Cannon to investigate the crime in which she had become a target. As with most of Ms. Foster’s book there was a lot of suspense, crimes against women, some pretty heinous acts of violence, and the threat of even more. However, and I stress this, everything in this book was used to move the plot forward and to show the reader that while there is crime everywhere there are also men and women both in uniform and out working to make the world a better place.

One last bit of kudos for this book, Ms. Foster made my year by including one of my all time favorite heroes from her SBC series in this book. It was a cameo appearance but I literally screamed when he appeared. His appearance has to do with the young man Cannon who we met in the last book and had a sizable role in this book and I can only hope that means we will once again get to see the SBC characters in her upcoming series.

From beginning to end of both this book and this series author Lori Foster had entertained, enlightened, educated, and thrilled us with her uncanny ability to mix suspense, sex, and love into one amazing package. Dash of Peril might be the end of this series, but we got a good look at what’s to come in her next series and honestly, I don’t know when I’ve been more excited about the start of something new!
