Win a bag o’books and swag from the Austin Author Event
I know it’s been forever since I have been around so don’t get all crazy on me here. There really hasn’t been much going on and as a matter of fact I actually had to take a trip out of town to get my grove thang on! Therefor I let the Freak out in Austin, Texas at the Austin Author Event.

The event wasn’t until Saturday so some fellow freaks, Jessica Prince, Alyssa Stringer, Lisa Chamberlin and Sandra Cortez and I decided to make a Girls Weekend out of it! It was Awesome!!!

Although Austin traffic sucks balls we were smart enough to use a cab to go out Friday night where we met and had dinner Oh and a few drinks, HA a few!, with Vilma of Vilma’s Book Blog, Danielle from Just Booked and many more. Had a great time meeting and making new friends.

Not ready to call it a night us Freaks decided to descend upon the Austin night life. We trusted our new friend Angel the cab drive to find us a place where we can get our drink and dancing on and boy did he. I’m not sure if he was trying to get rid of us at that point though, LOL!!

No I don’t remember the name of the place but our bartender was super cute, Jake, yes that I remember! The band was outside they were very good, yes I remember that, and I do know that Angel our cabbie came back for us and we were all very happy about that!! It was a GREAT night!!

Standing in line at a book signing not so great when you have a hangover and it’s cold and windy for over an hour and half. It was worth it though in the end meeting authors I hadn’t met before. Colleen Hoover had Griffin Peterson her cover model for Losing Hope there and let me tell you that man is freaking gorgeous up close. I just wanted to eat him up! All the authors were every personable, professional and so great to talk to. With as many people there were they still tried to take as much time with each person they could to make it a special moment. For me it was with Molly McAdams, she and I have talked and tried for almost a year to meet up and finally getting to was just awesome for me! She’s a real sweetie but then they all were!

I do have to throw in my bit of disappointment though because it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t. I didn’t get to see Cora Carmack, after being there for 3 hours already and her line was the longest of all the authors I was just wiped out to stand any longer. It really pained me to leave but I did, I’ve never done that, ever and it was seriously hard for me. So with two unsigned books in my bag we walked out the door.
Over all though it was a well put together event for so many authors and people the organizers did a great job in my opinion and it gave me and my fellow freaks a chance to let loose on another city!
So until next time READ ON!!!!
