S.J. Harper weaves the action of the FBI cases with their growing romantic issues and their secrets seamlessly and I couldn’t wait to read the next page. ~ Daniella, Guilty Pleasures
Meet FBI Agents Emma Monroe and Zack Armstrong.
She’s cursed. He’s damned. Together, they make one hell of a team.
Emma Monroe is a Siren, cursed by the gods and bound to earth to atone for an ancient failure. She’s had many names and many lives, but only one mission: redemption. Now that she works missing persons cases for the FBI, it could be just a rescue away. Unless her new partner leads her astray.
Special Agent Zack Armstrong just transferred into the San Diego Field Office. He’s a werewolf, doing his best to beat back the demons from his dark and dangerous past. As a former Black Ops sniper, he’s taken enough lives. Now he’s doing penance by saving them.
Emma and Zack’s very first case draws them deep into the realm of the paranormal, and forces them to use their own supernatural abilities. But that leaves each of them vulnerable, and there are lines partners should not cross. As secrets are revealed and more women go missing, one thing becomes clear: as they race to save the victims, Emma and Zack risk losing themselves.

This book is a wonderful start of a new series of action, paranormal romance!!!! It will hook you from the first page, and there is never anything wrong with that. With so many stories are based in and around New York, Chicago or Los Angeles, it is refreshing to read about San Diego from an author who knows what she is talking about concerning locations and places throughout the city she is writing about.
Take one Siren doing her penance for her misdeeds. Make her an FBI Agent in the San Diego field office. Add a werewolf who is serving his own created penance for his former life as a Black Ops Sniper. Make him a field agent, as well. Drop them together as brand new partners with secrets and issues about each other and mix for a wildly fun read full of intrigue, kidnappings and romance. That is what Cursed offers.
Emma Monroe is the Siren based in the field office in San Diego. She’s determined, stubborn and feisty. She is an excellent field agent with a huge secret (or two), who is atoning for her mistakes by helping find missing persons – females.
Enter Zach Armstrong, her new partner with his own secrets. He is a fresh face in the office but he and Emma have a short, albeit, steamy past that he cannot forget while she wants to forget, for his own safety.
The two people are the perfect coupling of opposites. They are drawn to each other like months to a proverbial flame. Even though Emma fights it throughout the entire book-and loses at times, they work well as partners searching for missing people throughout the city while searching their hearts for love.
I never lost track of the storyline, it is always at the front of this book. S.J. Harper weaves the action of the FBI cases with their growing romantic issues and their secrets seamlessly and I couldn’t wait to read the next page. I was taken by surprise with the climax and end of the book and literally was turning the pages trying to see if I was missing pages or if it truly had finished the way it did. I am so happy it kept me going and extremely happy to know that even though it “ended” it really hasn’t, because I can tell there is more that will be drawn out of Emma and Zach and whoever is new in the next book.
This book was fantastic and I cannot wait until the next one is hot off the presses!!! Yay, S.J. Harper!!!!
