Most of all Beach House Beginnings makes me believe there is magic in Beach House No. 9 and I can’t wait to see what happens next! ~ Guilty Pleasures
Description:
Christie Ridgway invites you to a special place of sun, sand and romance in her new series, Beach House No. 9. Enjoy this prequel novella and meet the people of Crescent Cove…
Two miles of magic. That’s how Meg Alexander remembers her childhood home of Crescent Cove on the California coast. But Meg doesn’t believe in magic anymore—not since heartbreak made her leave at nineteen and kept her away for ten years.
Yet Meg can’t say no when her sister asks her to temporarily step in as the cove’s property manager—and she can’t deny her instant attraction to handsome guest Caleb McCall. He sparks a desire that Meg hasn’t felt in a long time. But even as their incredible, incendiary kisses tempt her into a short-term fling, her head tells her to pull away.
Can Caleb convince her to give love a second chance?

This is a prequel to Christie Ridgway’s Beach House No. 9 series and I’ll admit; I’m hooked. This is only a four chapter book, but it gives us a glimpse at what to expect in the upcoming three novels.
Meg has returned to her childhood home to help out her sister who needs to go away to attend a wedding. She hasn’t been back to Crescent Cove for 10 years and we learn it was after the death of her summer boyfriend. When she sees Caleb McCall she thinks its Peter, her dead boyfriend of years ago. She soon learns it’s his younger cousin and they both are immediately attracted. This novella takes place over a long weekend so yes; they jump into a frenzied sexual affair right away. However, Caleb knows it’s more than that. He just has to convince Meg to believe.
I would like to know more about Meg and Caleb and see their relationship grow over a sensible amount of time; however I can’t help but like this story. Both of these people have suffered some tough blows in their young lives so it was nice to see them reach out and grab life by the horns and just live again. Despite the length, their story is well thought out and it’s hard not to just believe in second chances and guidance from above. Most of all Beach House Beginnings makes me believe there is magic in Beach House No. 9 and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
