J: Hello! It’s an honor to be here. Thank you so much!
A: What inspired you to begin writing and how long have you been at it?
J: I began writing poetry and stories at thirteen. Of course back then, they were much different. LOL
I’m inspired by a lot of different things. I love the dynamics of the BDSM power exchange. There are so many different levels and ways that dominants and submissives achieve fulfillment. Of course, I also enjoy a good ol’ vanilla love story as well. There’s nothing more satisfying than a character growing past an obstacle or ninja kicking down their protective walls and finding their happily ever after.
A: What’s the best thing you like about being a writer? What is the worst?
J:The best part is writing. It’s like basking on a beach with cabana Doms and a margarita machine.
The worst part is editing. It’s like childbirth without pain meds.
A: Tell us about co-writing One Dom to Love with Shayla Black and Isabella LaPearl.
J: OMG! We are having such a blast. I never knew work could be this much fun. I’m honored to be writing with them. When we get together it is usually non-stop laughter with a wee bit of writing here and there. I am having the time of my life! They are such remarkable women, I can’t begin to put it into words. It’s like Magic.
A: Other than writing, what are some of your passions in life?
J:Sliding my thighs around…. a HARLEY (You thought I was going to say something else didn’t you? *Wicked Grin*) and riding the country roads of Kansas. I also love camping, and some say if you’re in an RV it’s not camping… but it IS! But my most treasured passion is my family. They are the light of my life.
A: Anything your fans would be surprised to know about you?
J: I won first place in a Lip Sync contest. I was one of three Pointless Sisters and we danced and mouthed the words to “Baby Come and Get It.” (Blushes)
A: If you were an ice cream, what flavor would you be and why?
J: Definitely NOT vanilla. (Grin) I think Chocolate Covered Cherry. It’s sinfully decadent – what better thing to crave?
A: What’s next for you? We want to know about your past and current releases, as well as what you are working on.
J: Embracing My Submission went on sale, October 29th.
I’ve just finished the first book, “One Dom to Love” in the “The Doms of her Life” series with Shayla Black and Isabella LaPearl. It goes on sale December 4th.
I hope to have “Masters of My Desire” the second book in my “The Doms of Genesis” series out the first of 2013.
I’m sure the second in “The Doms of her Life” will be in full swing around this same time, too.
Then I’ll start writing the third in “The Doms of Genesis” series: “My Mind Master”
A: Last but not least, we all have them, what is your Guilty Pleasure?
J: Chocolate covered strawberries. And if they are out of season, chocolate is just FINE!

Thanks for the fun and informative interview. I liked the worst part about writing is editing. “It’s like childbirth without pain meds.” Funny! Embrassing My Submission sounds fantastic. Can’t wait to read it. Is there any genre that you’d like to write but haven’t?

Joanne B – I’ve written some contemporary romances that I’ve not published, yet. Maybe when I get the two series’ that I’m working on wrapped up, I’ll dust off the contemporary and give it a whirl. *Smile*

Was so excited to see the interview with Jenna – I “found” her (as an author, not on the side of the road or something [wink]) when she teamed up to write “One Dom To Love” since I’m a Shayla Black junkie. Nice to know a little bit about the person behind the pen!

Great interview. I am always amazed when two or more authors team up to write stories together, probably because I have never been a really good team player, I either I sit back shyly or want to take over the whole thing, lol. And I can totally go for camping in a camper. I used to love camping in a tent but now with my bad back, no way I could sleep on the ground.
