Now for Asher’s interview with Ann:
Asher – How do you find time to write, take care of your family, and still find time for You?
Ann: I’ve found that with my good friend crystal meth sleep is no longer an issue. Once you give up the crutch of sleeping every night and pop the Sandman’s titty from your mouth you’ll discover that you have scads of free time. Sure around day four or five you start hallucinating but that just works to your advantage as an author.
I’m just kidding, put the phone down and stop googling the number for Child Protective Services. 
I won’t lie, it isn’t easy balancing everything, but I have a husband who helps me out immensely. Sure he drives me batshit crazy, but he is also great at helping out with the housework and taking care of the kids. I do make sure to carve out ‘me’ time everyday to read. I’m a voracious reader and I become totally immersed in the books I read, giving my mind a vacation from its usual hyper activity.
Asher: If you could pick one, or two actors/actresses to cover model for you, who would they be, and Why?
Ann: If we can time travel I would like:

Asher: Where would you go for your Dream Vacation?

Ann: Hmm…Dream Vacation with the family would be Disney World followed by a cruise on their Big Red Boat. That’s actually my five year goal, to be able to take my family on a fantastic Disney vacation with my earnings from being an author. 
Dream Vacation with just me and the hubby would have to be an African Safari. I’ve always wanted to go to Africa and I love being outdoors and surrounded by so much raw nature.
Asher: Who would you take with you on this D.V, if you took any one at all?
Ann: See Above
Asher: I noticed you write primarily BDSM themed books, out of pure curiosity why is that?
Ann: Every relationship, every sexual encounter, has a bit of Dominance and submission in it. Who’s going to be on top tonight? Who is going to initiate the kiss? Who gets to orgasm first? Or, who is going to make the other one orgasm first?
For women sex is such a mental thing and in BDSM the mind is engaged, in my opinion, just as much as the body. During vanilla sex your thoughts can wander to the housework that needs to be done, wondering if your partner likes how you’re doing X/Y/Z, if you need to paint your toenails as they’re slung over his shoulder, etc. In BDSM, either as a Dom or a submissive, your thoughts, your focus, have to be on what you’re doing.
Let me think of how to explain this for someone who has never had a good, deep BDSM session before…
When a Dom/Top/Mistress/whatever you want to call the person in charge is really connected with their sub the rest of the reality fades away. Your entire focus is on your submissive and bringing them pleasure to the point where their pleasure becomes your pleasure. You find yourself becoming so immersed in them that you begin to anticipate their needs even before they’re aware that they want it, the slightest changes in expression and body langue speaking volumes to you about what they want. A good Dom knows how to get into their submissives heads, to know when they want to be pushed, and also to know when to back off and provide a safe haven for their submissive. When you are that deep into the scene you’re not thinking about anything but the give and exchange of energy/power and there is no room for bullshit wandering thoughts. It is just you, your sub, and bringing them as much pleasure and discipline as they desire.
On the other side of the coin, the submissive gets to enjoy totally letting go. With the right Dom a submissive can totally surrender his or herself to the care of the Dom and know that they will be taken care of.
Everyone’s needs are different, but when a good Dom and sub match is made that sub can let go and enjoy to the point where all they do is exist and feel. No worries, no constant distractions, no wondering if they are doing this or that right. It is all about the pleasure and serving their Doms needs.
I could go on and on about sub-space, power exchanges, etc but I’ll save that for another day.
What it basically boils down to is I immensely enjoy the mental aspects of BDSM and love to experience them through my characters, either in the mind of the sub of the Dom. In real life I’m a switch, meaning I enjoy either the sub of the Dom role depending on my partner. Though I will say 99% of the time I’m the Mistress, not the slave.
Asher: And of course to wrap things up, I have to ask ~ What is your Guilty Pleasure?
Ann: Food!-lol- I don’t know if it’s the Italian in me or what, but there is nothing I enjoy more than cooking up a big, decadent meal to share with my family and friends. But my ultimate indulgence food has to be home made chocolate chip cookies. They are my crack.

Great post! Ann’s points on BDSM were great and I really, really loved the little cartoon that was posted…lol…I would chose Michael Fassbender as the actor and Jennifer Lawrence as the actress to be on the book cover…loved them together in XMEN-First Class and can’t wait to see Michael in Prometheus. great interview. Love Ann’s books and I’ve read a few and her stories are very hot. That is a tough question about models. I think a great couple would be Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. Both very sexy and sensual.

Since I’d love to see more books about more “mature” couples, for the woman I’d pick Sofia Vergara. She’s gorgeous and sexy at 40. And for the man, Matthew Fox from lost. Hottest 44 year old man EVER!

Your terrific description of the Dom/syb relationship reminds me of the old joke: What’s the difference between a wife and a mistress? The mistress says, “How can I please you?” the wife says, “beige, I think I’ll paint the ceiling beige.” For what you’re describing-Michael Weatherly and Alyssa Milano as cover people.
