Description:
Bliss, Colorado, gave Hope McLean a second chance at life, but she’s hiding a dark secret.

Raised as brothers, James Glen and Noah Bennett always dreamed of finding a woman to share their lives on the Circle G ranch. James would run the ranch, while Noah served the town of Bliss as the resident vet. But when a woman came between the brothers, Noah fled for New York City and James was left to struggle for the ranch’s survival alone.

Now that Noah has returned, he will do anything to repay his debt to James. When he sees Hope, he knows she is the woman they both have been waiting for. But just as their love begins to bloom, a nightmare from Hope’s past returns to claim her.

To save Hope, and themselves, they will have to reclaim the brotherhood that was shattered and fight for their future.

Shadow’s Thoughts:
When I first read Two to Ride about Bliss, Colorado, I felt like I had stumbled upon a hidden treasure in author Sophie Oak. There were some rough edges from a newbie author, but the potential was there.

Over the past few books, she has lived up to that potential and become an author who can create angst, drama, and humor and combine them in a book that has you wanting to read it again as soon as you put down. Pure Bliss is the culmination of that polishing effort. It was laugh out loud funny in places, and moved me to tears in others. I will never look at someone riding in the back of a pickup truck the same way again!

The book is about Hope, James and Noah, all three residents of Bliss who have pasts that causes them shame. Hope is trying to forget her relationship with her late husband, and trying to avoid using the bottle to help her forget. Noah left his brother and the town in the lurch when he left with a gold digger who has left him broke and broken. And James stayed and worked the family ranch, but became a man whore, going out with every single woman in the area because he felt he couldn’t offer anything except hot sex.

Hope has long been attracted to James, and he to her, but he hasn’t acted on it, in fact, he has avoided Hope because until now his ranch was failing. He now has a partner and the ranch is on stable footing, so he feels he might be able to offer something more. But before he can take action, his brother comes back to town and he too is attracted to Hope.

And lurking in the shadows is Hope’s past-the man she thought was long dead.

Can these three tortured souls put the past truly behind them and become the family they each need? The author does a great job of exploring family relationships and the relationship everyone has with the town. She also explores the fact that everyone carries guilt around with them for something-true living is being able to move past that guilt. The book contains ménage relationships, BDSM elements, and some yummy cowboys and strong women. A true five star read.
