DiDi's Review - Truth or Dare (Party Games #2) by Rhian Cahill

Daring to tell the truth will change the rules of this game forever.

Summary:
When her friend deserts her at an exclusive Sydney house party, Miki Drummond retreats to a corner to observe the insanity. Watching life go by is something she does well, especially after the hell her marriage put her through.

She never dreamed she’d reconnect with not one but two blasts from her high school past. And she never expected their heated gazes to bring her body so easily back to life.

Grant Rogers and Dayne Pierce never forgot Miki. Ever. Past experience tells them to tread slowly and carefully, but that plan flies out the window when they’re all dragged into a game of Truth or Dare. Something’s up, because Miki repeatedly chooses to take a shot rather than reveal her obvious pain. Time after time.

Waking up hungover in a strange bedroom, Miki is caught in an electrically charged moment with two men who offer her unimaginable pleasure, who seem determined to keep her suspended in sweet torment—permanently.

One night of pure fantasy is all Miki dares to take, but come morning the hard truth is that walking away isn't an option.

Warning: The author cannot be held responsible for any truth you may tell or dare you make take after reading this story. And if you find yourself sandwiched between two hunky men…take the dare.

DiDi's Review:
Another fun, sexy, fast paced Party Games installment.   Truth or Dare is the second installment of the Party Games series. It takes place the same time as Suck and Blow (bk 1).  We first meet Mikki, Dayne and Grant in Suck and Blow. Mikki is Frankie's best friend, Dayne and Grant are former classmates of Mikki and Frankie.

Mikki has been the conservative, quiet one of the group.   She is shocked when she runs into Dayne and Grant at a party.  Seeing them brings back memories from high school when she had a crush on both of them, she never acted on it because she couldn't pick which boy she wanted. When they told her she didn't have to pick, they would share her, she RAN as fast as she could.  It also makes her realize the "grown up" Mikki wants both sexy men.  Dayne and Grant cannot believe the one girl they both had a crush on in high school, the one girl they never forgot, is at the party nor that the attraction and emotions they feel about her are just as strong as ten years ago. They decide to approach her and not let her get away this time. During the party Frankie gets everyone involved in a game of Truth or Dare, Mikki ends up having a few too many shots, Frankie wants to take her home, but Dayne and Grant convince Frankie to enjoy the party and  leave Mikki in their care.

Dayne and Grant are sweet, sexy men, they have been best friends forever, business partners and they live together. You can feel how deeply they care for each other as friends and for Mikki.  Mikki is cute, funny and someone I would love to have as a friend.  The chemistry between the three is hot and the sex scenes had me fanning myself.  There is actually a lot of emotion in this short story to go with the sex.  (Oh and if I were ever to be in a menage, I would love a Dayne and Grant, they are sexy, rich, funny, they have no problem showing their affection and they cook and clean)

I was impressed by the fact that Ms. Cahill brought up something in this book that I have not seen in many menage books.  Both Grant and Dayne are hetero, Mikki is the first and only woman they have ever wanted to share.  The fact that she wrote about Dayne feeling Grant's hand touch his genitals, the guys touching each other during sex, not really intentional, but just in the throes of passion or in cuddling around Mikki and their thoughts about it, makes the intimate scenes believable.  Most M/F/M books never mention accidental touches and it always bothers me, because honestly, in a menage, body parts are going to touch, regardless of intent.  SO MAJOR PROPS to Ms. Cahill for writing about it.  I also give her props for the ending, it's more of a HFN with strong HEA hints, but it works because of the length of time they all fall for each other.

I am sure some will say the feelings were too intense and the HFN/HEA came too quick. I say, it's fiction, if three people can fall in love with each other and live in a committed relationship, well hell they can do it in a weeks time.  An author has to convince me it is possible and Ms. Cahill convinced me with flying colors.

I am not sure how many books are in the Party Games series. In Suck and Blow, we briefly met two more people, Mac and Lil, I hope we get to see a book about them.
