I am a huge fan of the Red Hot and Blue series by Cat Johnson so I was stoked to get to review her latest in the series.  Although this story is short the author managed to get all of the important emotions that you normally see in a full length novel into this story without it seeming forced.

Cole has just returned home to Pigeon Hollow after an injury that ended his career in the major leagues.  Ten years ago Lizzy broke his heart when she abruptly dumped him and now he has to return to the town where she is still living and comes to discovery that she's been keeping a secret from him all along.  Cole has to figure out if he can get past his hurt in order to take another chance on the one woman he has always loved.  And Lizzy has to get over her fears in order to get back the man that's had her heart since she was a teen.

I loved getting to experience the relationship between Cole and Lizzy and fell in love with the characters almost instantly.  I highly recommend all of the books in this series but I'll admit, I hold a particular place in my heart now for Cole.  Who wouldn't love a man who is so open about how he feels but still totally masculine at the same time.
