Everything I ever wanted to know about BDSM…..

Visit Cherise’s Web-site

I learned from Cherise Sinclair and her Club Shadowlands series. Oh, I’ve read plenty of books who touched on the subject, which is what sparked my interest in the first place. But, once I started reading the CS series, I was introduced into a whole world of information and now I’m just down right intrigued, some may say even a little obsessed. Not only are the books well written, educational to those of us not in the KNOW of BDSM, but the heroes are to die for and the heroines are laugh out loud funny–mostly because of their reluctance to submit, and the lovin’ is STEAMY.

Now, I know the series is for entertainment, and Ms. Sinclair has done an outstanding job in that department, but I was amazed at how educated I’ve become on the subject. I do have to admit that I’m more interested in the Dom/Sub relationship as it pertains to bondage, totally giving up that control to another person, complete trust in your partner, that person knowing you better than you know yourself, and the sexual gratification. I am most definitely not intrigued with the extreme pain side of it. I chuckle to myself because I believe all of the heroines in the CS books said the same thing. Hmmm. No, I’m positive– I am not into Extreme Pain.
Well, as much I have learned about BDSM in a very short amount of time, one question keeps popping up in my mind every time I come across a particular type scene, and that is “Can we really come on demand?’ We’ve had some fun throwing it out there and discussing it, but I recently posed the question to the source, my BDSM sexpert , and here’s what she had to say on the subject.

“Coming on command? Oh, it’s real. To me, it seems like there’s two variations. There’s the one where they’re already having sex, she’s actually pretty close, and her Dom’s hard command basically just shoves her over the edge. The other kind is where a sub gets off on command with no stimulation involved, like in a restaurant in the middle of a meal. As far as I know, that takes actual almost Pavlovian training. “

I don’t know about any of you, but I want to learn to do this. I had no idea it was FOR REAL. I just thought it made for good entertainment and discussions. LOL I’d love to hear if any of you have experienced this type of orgasm. Inquiring minds REALLY do want to know!

Happy reading to everyone and if you have not read any of Cherise Sinclair’s books, please go and get one or a few of them today. If you are like me, one will not be enough. I devoured each and every book and couldn’t put them down, like a chain smoker with their cigarettes, I tell ya. I promise, you will not be disappointed.

A special thanks to Cherise and keep those Sexy, Smokin’, Hot books coming (seriously no pun intended)

XOXO

  1. LOVE it KurvyK!!! Cherise is my favorite BDSM author. I love Club Shadowlands, as well as her Master of the Mountain series and the Dom’s Dungeon. I have Club Shadowlands up for a re-read, hopefully I get to start it in the next week or so. I am missing Master Marcus…hopefully I’ve been a big enough “brat” to get some of his special punishments. On top of putting out smokin hot books, Cherise is a pretty awesome lady =)

  2. One of my top favorite Author’s and my first author in the BDSM genre. All her books are wonderful and I highly recommend them to anyone interested in reading books in this genre. I can’t wait to re-read them all again. Her latest book Hour of the Lion, while not really BDSM was still an excellent read.

  3. Coming on command is real, but not everyone can do it. I’ve seen it happen and talked to Doms who’ve trained their submissives to do it. One type, the “no stimulation” actually involves placing triggers with what basically boils down to hypnosis/NLP methods. The other, during sex or a scene where the sub is being stimulated, is usually they’re commanded to “hold it” — which of course makes them want to come even more. LOL

But it’s not something everyone, or even most people, can do. And there are a lot of people who play in public who don’t play sexually, so it’s not like everyone is even playing with orgasms being the object of the play.

  4. KurvyK, thanks for all the sweet words! And I’m delighted to have been one of those luring you over to the Dark Side. 🙂 D and Jennifer-thank you! *happy dance that you liked Hour of the Lion too!*
Tymber! I’m always recommending that people read your The Reluctant Dom. It’s so, so good!

  5. Thank you for your input Tymber, us wannabe’s are so intrigued. The Reluctant Dom is in a class by itself for me. This may sound dumb, since they live the lifestyle, but when I think of TRD, I think of an emotionally gripping book, the BDSM comes second in my mind to the emotions and relationships in the book. I felt like Kaden, Seth and Leah were my friends, I cried for days after reading it.

When I tell friends to read TRD, I tell them before they start they should to pick out a light hearted, purely chick lit book to read immediately after, because they will be so drawn into TRD they are going to feel like a close friend just died and will need something to lighten their mood. The Reluctant Dom is an outstanding novel.

  6. Wow its so great to have Cherise and Tymber on here.. My earliest books on BDSM were of the hardcore variety. It was literally from Harlequin to the Taboo series from Cheyenne McCray to everything from Jaid Black and Carolyn Faulkner (who had some hard core dominance books but also specialized in spanking books which then I got hooked on those). It was early 2010 when I found Cherise and couldnt get enough. You actually feel like you had an orgasm by the end of the book.. She commanded you through all the pages and then at the end finally goes “come”.. Looking forward to more from both series..

  7. Naughty D–You turned me on to this awesome series and I THANK you for it. I love ALL the Masters, but like Cord McKay, we may have to share Master Marcus. Ms. Cherise is a doll. She is hanging at the top with my all-time favorite authors. I can’t get enough of her books.

  8. Jennifer–I’m with you, I see a re-read of Club Shadowlands in my future. Not to mention, all the hot and sexy possible Masters yet to come. Ooops, there I go again. HEHEHE Thanks for stoping by!

  9. KurvyK…..you are very welcome. But girlfriend….I finally agreed to share Cord McKay…but you are pushing it expecting me to share Master Marcus…and even though their books aren’t out yet…I ain’t sharing Master Raoul or Master Bennett McKay 😉

  10. Tymber–What a treat to have to you stop by and post. I’ve heard so many awesome things about you and your book, The Reluctant Dom. This sub-genre is very new to me, but I will be reading your book with a box of Klenex close by from what I understand. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your comments and input. I’m learing more and more every time we have a discussion. On the lighter side, I’ve tried to picture a situation where my hubby, in the heat of the moment, pulls my hair, slaps me on the ass, and yells–COME RIGHT NOW, but for some reason, every time, I turn around (sorry but I always pictured doggie style), punch him in the stomach and tell him to go to hell. I realize I have got to work on my attitude with this whole submission thing.

  11. OMG…KurvyK, I just saw your post and spewed my mimosa out of my nose….you crack me up!!! Why do I think you will enjoy your punishments for telling him hell no 😉

  12. Totally adore Cherise’s books — have all of them on my Pandigital and read them when I need inspiration. Wink.

I am sooo waiting for Master Raoul — and he’s mine, ladies, all mine. I’ve had an imaginary Raoul the Pool Boy for years, but Cherise quickly converted me to a Master Raoul. LOL

And Tymber, I loved The Reluctant Dom – and just re-read Love Slave for Two the other night. It was the first of yours I read (other than one I judged for a certain contest which made me go out and buy some of your books).

And thanks to my fan girl, Cindy, for inviting me to this site!

  13. I love Shadowlands! Cherise is one of the reasons I got into writing BDSM. Cherise (and the great Tymber Dalton) opened up a world to me. I can’t express how much I love these books and Master of the Mountain. If you love BDSM and haven’t read Cherise – what are you waiting for?

  14. Loved the Shadowlands and Master of the Mountain series. Now it looks like I need to check out Tymber Dalton and Sophie Oaks! One thing that I think about with the Doms/subs is how much effort the doms have to put into taking care of their subs. It would have to be exhausting to be in charge of someone else’s needs all the time. I think that is a big part of the appeal. Not having to take responsibility for yourself sexually especially if you have a zillion responsibilities in the rest of your life

  15. Thank you, Cindy, Annie, Monette,

LOL, Kurvy K. That sounds like an…interesting…way to start a morning. Why do I envision you dealing out that punch, then ending up, butt up and face down, for a much needed wake-up call.

Monette, I am *still* wanting and waiting for sequels to Prime Obsession and Eye of the Storm. I swear, girl, if you don’t finish them up, I’ll request Master Sam take his black snake whip and pay you a visit.

Thank you, Sophie! Y’all, if you haven’t read Sophie Oak’s books, give’em a try. Yummy menage. I keep wandering back and forth between her Bliss and Texas series’.
