Becky C’s Review:
Oh, my. Where to start? The sex is hot (always a good starting point), different (it is sci fi after all), m/m and ménage. Tymber Dalton writes with and about emotions so strong that the reader can become very attached to her characters and such is the case here.

Dale is an unwilling draftee in a space war between Terrans (earthlings from many planet colonies) and Algonquans from, well, Algonquan. Algonquans are unisex humanoids, 8′ tall, who don’t want this war and are trying to wait out the bloodthirsty Terrans. In the past 20 years they have captured tens of thousands of Terrans and there are many rumors of what happens to them in captivity.

Since Algonquans are unisex, they have to reproduce some way and it is a combination of pregnancy and egg-laying. The clinical details are, um, unusual, but thank you, Tymber for giving the gift of painful labor to men!

The Terrans are horny all the time, possibly due to their diet, and the Algonquans have invented masturbation machines that keep the Terran captives very, very happy. The frequent sex scenes involve human with human, human with Algonquan, and human on the masturbation machine. Any of these scenes are guaranteed to be hot enough to set fire to your eReader. Seriously! Not to be read at work unless you have a very private office.

After capture Dale is adopted by a wealthy Algonquan as his pet, much like we adopt dogs and cats. His Master has the means to adopt several pets who develop loving and sexual relationships with each other and with Master.

The war finally ends. There really isn’t any war action in the book, so if you are looking for that kind of story look elsewhere. The Terrans give up and come to Algonquan to pick up their MIAS, who don’t want to go home. The end of the story happens in fast forward mode without a lot of detail. Actually, that is probably a good thing since day after day details of we’re-still-happy could get boring quickly. However, as with all living things, there is a life cycle that must be played out. OMG! Can you say Big Box of Kleenex?

This is a story of love and life. Ms. Dalton can write the heartbreak of loss like no other. I couldn’t pick up another book for weeks after finishing this one because Dale, Master and the other characters wouldn’t be in it. I love, love, loved this book.

I’ve reread it several times and happily award it 5 Stars and a Guilty Pleasures Recommended Read!
